REACH are a new European regulation for chemical substances. The abbreviations stand for registration, evaluation and authorization of chemical substances. Regulation becomes effective on the 1th of June 2007.

The core of the regulation is that a company produces that chemical substances, processes or passes on to customers in principle of all those substances risk must know, measures must indicate to master risk that and also must carry out those measures in its own company. By REACH the onus of proof for safe producing becomes, safely put on the market and safe use of chemical substances moved of the government to businesses.

For REACH it not only concerns producers and importers of chemicals, but all companies which with chemical substances, substances in preparations, or substances in objects have to do. There a recording system of substances comes and substances in preparations that for the complete EU apply. For every recording a technical file must be composed with in advance defined data concerning substance properties, volume, use, exhibition, etc

Parties that the same want register substance, must their data concerning substance properties with sharing each other. Also a chemical security report must be established, in which on the basis of these data risk is stipulated and from that resulting risk management measures is taken.
